Ben Koors Is Stricken With Heart Attack
Expired in Bed Wednesday Morning Without Making a Sound
Schock to Community
Wife, Awaken by Slight Movement, Made Startling Discovery.
Bernard Joseph Koors, 47 years of age, better known to all his many friends as Ben Koors, died suddenly at his home northeast of Tipton Wednesday morning at 5:10. Coroner H. V. Morris who investigated stated death was caused by a heart attack.
Mr. Koors, who had not been strong for some time, had been in usual health Tuesday and retired about the usual time. Early Wednesday morning, his wife heard him stir and inquired if he was getting up. He did not reply and fell back on the bead, death coming without a moment's warning.
The death was so unexpected that persons when they heard the news could hardly believe it was true.
Mr. Koors was born in Tipton county February 13, 1888, being one of several children born to Herman G. and Rebecca (Funke) Koors and was reared on a farm northeast of Tipton. He was united in marriage to Mary Rosina Dane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dane, October 16, 1912, the marriage taking place at the St. John's Catholic church with Rev. A. Henneherger officiating. With the exception of several years spent in Hamilton county he had resided in Tipton county all of his life and was a member of the St. John's Catholic church of Tipton.
Surviving besides the widow Mrs. Mary Koors are six children, Mary Margaret, Joseph, Bernice, Anna Marie, Clement and Louis, the latter being but five years old. Two children John and Bernard died in infancy. The deceased is also survived by the mother Mrs. Rebecca Koors. The father Herman G. Koors died May 15, 1933. Three brothers and four sisters also survive, John J. Koors and Herman T. Koors of Tipton and Rev. Clemens Koors of Whiting; Mrs. V. H. Jung and Miss Loretta Koors of Tipton and Mrs. Josephine Altherr and Mrs. James Parr both of Elwood.
The deceased was president of the local chapter of the Catholic Benevolent League of Indiana and a member of the Holy Name Society of the Catholic church.
Funeral services are to be held at the St. John's Catholic church in Tipton at 10:00 o'clock Saturday morning with Rev. Clement Koors officiating and burial will be in the St. John's cemetery.
The body will lie in stat at the home until the hour of services and friends may call at any time.

Anna Koors
Anderson -- Anna Marie Koors, 50, 4227 Mellen Drive, died Friday morning at St. John's Hospital in Anderson.
She was a native of Tipton County but had resided in Anderson since 1947.
She had been employed by the Delco-Remy Division for 31 years and was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Mary Parr of Tipton and Mrs. Bernice Humphrey of Anderson; and three brothers, Joseph F. Koors of Anderson, Clemens R. Koors of Connersville and Louis Koors of Tipton.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Anderson with the Rev. Clemens Koors and the Rev. James Robetta officiating. Burial will be in the St. John cemetery at Tipton.
Friends may call at the Harold E. Rozelle funeral home today from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday after 2 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Louis A. Koors
Louis A. Koors, 55, of rural Monticello, died Tuesday, June 10, 1986, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after a three-month illness.
He was born in Tipton county on Nov. 10, 1930 to Bernard and Mary (Dane) Koors. On June 19, 1954, he married Lois Barbara Sutton, who survives.
An employee of Chrysler corporation's Inspection Department for 29 years, he was a member of the St. John Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Navy and Army.
Also surviving are a son, Tom Koors of Tipton; a daughter, Marilyn Roark of Hamilton County; two brothers, Joe Koors of Anderson and Clem Koors of Connersville; two sisters, Mary Parr of Tipton and Bernice Humphries of Anderson; and two grandchildren.
Private services will be conducted Thursday with burial in St. John Cemetery. There will be no viewing hours. Arrangements are being conducted by Porter Funeral Home.

Otto Parr
Otto L. Parr, 73, 410 Green St., died at 6:10 p.m. Sunday at Tipton County Memorial Hospital following a two-week confinement.
Born Dec. 25, 1903, he was the son of Adam and Bridget Tobin Parr.
He was wed Nov. 18, 1936 to Mary Koors, who survives.
Mr. Parr retired in 1968 from John Bean. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
Surviving with his wife are: a son, Terrence Parr, Rt. 1, Sharpsville; three daughters, Mrs. Claudett Gootee and Mrs. Patricia Stearsman, both of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Arlene Moreland of Tipton; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Church. Rev. John Bouvier will officiate and burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Letherman-Morris Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
