Heart Attack Proved Fatal
Valentine Jung Died Early Last evening at His Home Here
Was Born in County
Valentine Jung, age 57, suffered a fatal heart attack at his home, 216 Oak street, at 6:30 o'clock last evening and died within a few minutes, before the family physician could arrive. His death was a great shock to the family and friends as he had been in usual health and had worked during the day, becoming ill at 4:00 o'clock when he suffered a slight heart attack which apparently had passed.
The body was taken to Young's funeral home and was returned to the home this afternoon. Friends are invited to call. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
Mr. Jung, supervisor for WPA county road projects, working on 213 north of Hobbs, and No. 19, south of Tipton, spent the day yesterday with his men but at 4:00 o'clock suffered a heart attack and returned to this city, where he met his son, Joe, employed at the Tipton Lumber company. They went to the office of the family physician and then home. Mr. Jung apparently has greatly improved.
Shortly after the supper hour, he was sitting in the living room and suddenly fell to the floor. Mrs. Jung rushed outside, calling neighbors, and a physician was called but the stricken man died within a few minutes.
Valantine Henry Jung was a native of this county, the son of Leonard and Kathrine (Schroeder) Jung. He was born southeast of Tipton August 12, 1884, and always lived in this county and city. November 16, 1909, he was united in marriage with Mary Elizabeth Koors, daughter of the late Herman G. Koors.
Surviving are the widow and children, Mrs. Mary Shuck and Herman Jung of Elwood, Joseph and Mrs. Katherine Coryell of Tipton, Edwin George at home and eight grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Margaret Bendler of Tipton and two brothers, John S. Jung of Argos and George Anthony Jung of Atlanta. A brother Joe, is deceased.
